Isle of the Maggots

Isle of the Maggots is a difficult 3D Dungeon Crawling RPG with Horror elements including isolation and body horror. You're a mysterious stranger that came ashore the cursed island of Corpsidino. Will you find what you have lost or will you be consumed by the monsters?

Controls
WASD to move,  Q and E to turn 90 degrees, Space Ok/Use. ESC Cancel / Go Back / Menu

About
This game is influenced by dungeon crawlers such as Dungeons of Gilmore and Wizardry. However I attempted to streamline it more by giving each character what they need at the get go. Grinding has been eliminated. Instead you explore the world to find relics to increase your three stats.

This game is my first attempt at a RPG, My first 3D RPG and also my first RPGmaker game. Making the game was super easy some days and brought me to tears of desperation on others. I struggled giving the game a unique style, some of it might be consider ugly but it is at least unique. I was also new to MZ3d so the game world is somewhat blocky. I will probably shift to Godot or Unreal in my next project. I originally attempted to add metroidvaina elements and fishing to the game but it didn't quite fit. Instead removed it from the game and made a game called Anubian's Quest for  a game jam. I will be releasing a polished version of Anubian in the coming weeks.
